Volleyball Recap: South Effingham Find Success

The South Effingham Mustangs were able to grind out a solid win over the Long County Blue Tide on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: South Effingham took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-7.

Clara Vorel paced South Effingham's offense, picking up 11 kills. Vorel got some help from Leah Magana and her 15 assists. Vorel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

South Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Long County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

South Effingham will be playing in front of their home fans against Camden County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Long County, they will head out to face off against Liberty County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
