Baseball Recap: Norwell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Norwell put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Mississinewa Indians. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 14-10 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Cayden Cassel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Noah Schamerloh was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Eli Randol was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Norwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Norwell's record now sits at 3-0. As for Mississinewa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwell will host Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mississinewa, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southwood at 5:00 p.m.
