Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-33 heartbreaker at the hands of Rappahannock County. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Rappahannock County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-36 back in January.

Madison County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Willa Lewis, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Lewis has posted since back in January of 2024. Michelle Thompson was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.
