Baseball Recap: Mammoth Drops Season-High Score on Frazier Mountain

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mammoth). They walked away with a 22-19 victory over the Frazier Mountain Falcons on Friday. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Tommy Lackey was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in six of his seven plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jason Smyth, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mammoth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Mammoth and bumps their season record up to 2-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Frazier Mountain, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mammoth will head out to square off against Mineral County at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frazier Mountain, they will venture away from home to challenge McFarland at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
