Soccer Recap: Mt. Eden Comes Up Short

Mt. Eden lost against Berkeley back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mt. Eden Monarchs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berkeley Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 131st).

Mt. Eden's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-3-2. As for Berkeley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1-1.

After both having extra time off, Mt. Eden and Concord will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Concord is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season. As for Berkeley, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Dougherty Valley on the 21st.
