Football Game Preview: Cedar Park Christian Eagles vs. Sultan Turks

The Cedar Park Christian Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Sultan Turks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Park Christian will be strutting in after a win while Sultan will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Cedar Park Christian made easy work of Coupeville and carried off a 31-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by 24 points or more so far this season.

Lyal Viers was his usual excellent self, picking up 65 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 101 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Tre Samuelu, who threw for 189 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cedar Park Christian proved: they limited Coupeville to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Braden Montgomery for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cedar Park Christian didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.7.

Meanwhile, Sultan played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 59-14 loss at the hands of Mt. Baker. The Turks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-7.

Cedar Park Christian will have to contain Timothy Dilger as he made an impact in Sultan's last game. He picked up 65 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground. Dilger showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 65 yards. Hunter Ansell handled things on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.

Sultan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cedar Park Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
