Preview: Liberty Common Eagles vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars
After three games on the road, Liberty Common is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Jefferson Academy Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty Common will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Jefferson Academy is ranked 81st).
Liberty Common struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (Stargate School had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Liberty Common fell 50-37 to Stargate School.
Despite their loss, Liberty Common saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Pierce Richardson, who scored ten points along with five assists, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Richardson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Max Frevert, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Liberty Common struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 51-38 win over Valley.
Liberty Common's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Jefferson Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
