Football Recap: Pembroke Pines Charter Comes Up Short

Pembroke Pines Charter and South Plantation squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Pembroke Pines Charter had to settle for second. They and the Paladins were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 20-19 loss. The Jaguars have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Pembroke Pines Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Ojeda, who picked up 144 receiving yards and three scores, and Ava Rivera, who threw for 200 yards and three TDs. Ojeda continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

McKenzie Livermore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Plantation, rushing for 71 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Livermore racked up 109.1 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February.

Pembroke Pines Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for South Plantation, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
