Volleyball Recap: Gustavus Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Gustavus had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kake Thunderbirds. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Gustavus started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-19, 25-7, 25-23.

Kake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 16th. Hopefully Gustavus paid attention to the Thunderbirds' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
