Basketball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Southside Tigers lost to the Laurens Raiders on the road by a 44-29 margin. The Tigers were down 39-17 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

It was another big night for Zoe Young, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 22 boards for Laurens. That makes it five consecutive games in which Young has scored at least a third of Laurens' points. Nyri Allen was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and five steals.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Laurens, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Southside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-30 win against Emerald on the 9th. Laurens has also already played their next contest, a 57-36 loss against Wren on the 9th.
