Football Recap: Washburn Comes Up Short

Washburn extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were dealt a 44-8 defeat at the hands of the Northwood/Solon Springs Evergreens. If the Castle Guards were looking for revenge after losing 70-30 to the Evergreens when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Northwood/Solon Springs, the win got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ian Woodhull had a dynamite game, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 146 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 106 rushing yards per game.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Washburn will face off against rival Bruce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northwood/Solon Springs is set to square off against their familiar foe South Shore at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
