Baseball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-11-1 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Vermillion Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Ramblers of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Attica saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karsyn Lovell-Ramey, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

As for South Vermillion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 18th.

On South Vermillion's side, Dallas Coleman was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Coleman has posted since back in April. Bryson Lemmons was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

While Attica had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
