Basketball Recap: Tyshaun Harris and Jabril Abdullah Secure Win for University City

University City posted their closest win since February 9th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Madison Warhawks out 56-54. That's more bragging rights for the Centurions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading University City to victory were Jabril Abdullah and TyShaun Harris. Abdullah went 5 of 12 en route to 19 points, while Harris went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Those 19 points gave Abdullah a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, don't look at Runnar(Rj) Miller. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Moore, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 11 points.

University City now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Madison, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-2.

University City will welcome Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Fe Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully University City likes a good challenge. As for Madison, they will take on Southwest SD in a tournament on Saturday. Southwest SD will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Madison surely won't give up without a fight.
