Basketball Game Preview: Anahuac Panthers vs. East Chambers Buccaneers

Anahuac is 1-9 against East Chambers since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Anahuac Panthers will look to defend their home court against the East Chambers Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Anahuac challenged Orangefield on Friday. Anahuac took a hard 53-38 fall against Orangefield. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1026th, while the Bobcats are ranked 373rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Chambers, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took down Buna 66-50 on Tuesday.

East Chambers pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Anahuac, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
