Baseball Game Preview: Greene Central Rams vs. Bear Grass Charter Bears

The Greene Central Rams will take on the Bear Grass Charter Bears in a tournament on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Greene Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Farmville Central.

The team relied heavily on Will Radford, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Austin Brock was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bear Grass Charter had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Hurricanes as they made off with a 13-3 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 9, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Bear Grass Charter pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Greene Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
