Basketball Game Preview: Tokay Tigers vs. Edison Vikings

The Tokay Tigers will face off against the Edison Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tokay has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Edison will arrive with five straight victories.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-50, which was the final score in Tokay's tilt against Bear Creek on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Edison strolled past Chavez with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 68-50. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Titans are ranked 796th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edison's win came from a few key players Tokay will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alonzo Ward, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Tytus Billingsly, who scored 13 points.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Tokay, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11.
