Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crenshaw Christian Academy last Tuesday, Sparta Academy came back down to earth. The Sparta Academy Warriors came up short against the Jackson Academy Eagles on Friday, falling 46-26. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Sparta Academy still got an impressive performance from Krisalyn Johnson, who posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Sparta Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Jackson Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Sparta Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Patrician Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Snook Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
