Mountain Heritage waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Madison Patriots 60-31. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Mountain Heritage had a senior duo take command as Lilly Neill dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds and Grace Brooks went 6 of 9 to rack up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mallie Mae Buchanan, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points.

Mountain Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, don't look at Paige Peek. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

Mountain Heritage's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points over those games. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. As for Madison, they are taking a road trip to challenge Owen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
