Softball Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Clinton Red Devils

The Laurens Raiders will take on the Clinton Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Laurens has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Laurens after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Fountain Inn, falling 23-7.

Ashlyn Messer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Addison Trevino was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Clinton never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Columbia 18-0.

Clinton's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-8-1. As for Laurens, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.
