Football Recap: Gibson Southern's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

With a playoff win on the line, Gibson Southern rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-12 victory over the Vincennes Lincoln Alices. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Zach Foster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 125 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 83 yards.

Gibson Southern didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Vincennes Lincoln to a completion percentage of just 36.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Lloyd Sellers, Eli Stone, and Ian Maikranz, who each logged one passes deflected. Gibson Southern has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.63 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.63 in their last three games.

The win (which was Gibson Southern's eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points over those games. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
