Baseball Recap: Palos Verdes Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Palos Verdes and Torrance, and Torrance kept the tradition alive. The Sea Kings fell just short of the Tartars by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Sea Kings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tartars earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Palos Verdes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Bandy, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Palos Verdes has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Torrance, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Palos Verdes will take on San Dimas at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sea Kings 3.9, the Saints 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Torrance has already played their next game (against Pacifica), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
