Softball Game Preview: Argyle Eagles vs. Grapevine Mustangs

The Argyle Eagles will take on the Grapevine Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Argyle has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Argyle didn't have quite enough to beat Richland and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Grapevine narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Colleyville Heritage 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Tiana Coburn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Grapevine's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Graelyn Lindbloom, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Braylee Smart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Grapevine's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Argyle, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.

Argyle was able to grind out a solid win over Grapevine in their previous meeting on March 6th, winning 8-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
