Baseball Recap: Pikesville Has No Trouble Against Hereford

Pikesville's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Hereford Bulls 12-5. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ian Davis, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kairee Williams, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pikesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win snapped Pikesville's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Hereford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pikesville will host Eastern Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mavericks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hereford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marriotts Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
