Softball Game Preview: Cuba-Rushford Rebels vs. Genesee Valley Jaguars

The Cuba-Rushford Rebels will head out to challenge the Genesee Valley Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Genesee Valley will be up against a hot Cuba-Rushford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Rebels were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Alfred-Almond on Friday. With that win, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Cuba-Rushford let Jordan Radomski and Aubrey Williams run wild. Radomski went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles, while Williams got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Radomski a new career-high. Molly Kunz also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Genesee Valley got themselves on the board against Honeoye on Saturday, but Honeoye never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 12-0. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by exactly 12 runs.

Genesee Valley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cuba-Rushford, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Cuba-Rushford took their victory against Genesee Valley in their previous meeting on May 8th by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
