Itasca skate past Rio Vista with ease

Even though The Itasca Wampus Cats have not done well against the Rio Vista Eagles recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Itasca breezed by Rio Vista on the road to the tune of 47-20. Considering Itasca has won four matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Itasca was led to victory by Justin Ludwig and Buddy Jackson. Ludwig picked up 150 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Jackson threw for 288 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Ludwig was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 61 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Rio Vista lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashton Huey. Despite the final result, he picked up 125 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The victory makes it two in a row for Itasca and bumps their season record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26 points. As for Rio Vista, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Itasca will head out on the road to face off against Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Axtell is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Rio Vista, they will be playing at home against Cayuga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
