Piedmont entered their tilt with Pell City on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

Piedmont pushed their record up to 16-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pell City, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11.

Piedmont and Pell City are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will take on Gordo at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pell City, they will square off against Huffman at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
