Basketball Recap: Mooresville Takes a Loss

Mooresville and Lawrence North squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mooresville had to settle for second. They were dealt an 80-42 defeat at the hands of the Lawrence North Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Wildcats are ranked second).

When it comes to explaining why Mooresville lost, don't look at Bradley Robbins Jr. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-7 on his way to 12 points. Thanks to that strong game, Robbins Jr now owns an excellent 46.8% field goal percentage. Michael Irving iii was another key player, putting up seven points.

Mooresville's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Lawrence North, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Mooresville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawrence North, they will take on Terre Haute North Vigo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lawrence North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
