Baseball Recap: Guy-Perkins Comes Up Short

Guy-Perkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Nemo Vista Red Hawks, falling 19-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

Urijah Fortner put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Fortner wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Guy-Perkins' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Nemo Vista, they moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Guy-Perkins will face off against West Side at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nemo Vista, they will host Wonderview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
