Basketball Recap: Diller-Odell's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Diller-Odell extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Myleigh Weers. The Diller-Odell Griffin were the clear victor by a 57-31 margin over the Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats on Friday thanks to Weers, who went 12-for-22 en route to 33 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 24 points.

Jaedyn Hajek was another key player, putting up three points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Exeter-Milligan/Friend's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylin Schluter, who scored nine points and five steals, and Tori Bresson, who put up five points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Exeter-Milligan/Friend is 3-1 when Schluter posts five or more steals, but 5-13 otherwise.

Diller-Odell's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Diller-Odell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-51 win against Lourdes Central Catholic/Nebraska City on the 19th. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 32-29 defeat against McCool Junction on the 18th.
