Basketball Recap: Pickett County Skates Past South Pittsburg with Ease

Pickett County came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the South Pittsburg Pirates to the tune of 73-37. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Pirates are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pickett County is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for South Pittsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
