Basketball Game Preview: Oklahoma City S Storm vs. Mount St. Mary Rockets

Oklahoma City S hasn't had much luck against Mount St. Mary recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Oklahoma City S Storm just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Mount St. Mary Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Oklahoma City S took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grant 87-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Storm have posted since December 10, 2024.

Oklahoma City S found their leader in sophomore Matthew Mason, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and six assists. That's the most assists Mason has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carter Dunbar, who scored 11 points and four steals.

Oklahoma City S was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount St. Mary). They were the clear victor by an 88-63 margin over Tecumseh on Tuesday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Savages are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount St. Mary is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Oklahoma City S, their victory bumped their record up to 13-23.

Oklahoma City S lost to Mount St. Mary on the road by a decisive 66-52 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Oklahoma City S avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
