Edgewood was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Merritt Island on Friday. The Edgewood Red Wolves blew past the Merritt Island Mustangs 48-26. The Red Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Merritt Island's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Evans, who posted six points.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Merritt Island, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Edgewood will challenge Bayside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edgewood is facing Bayside at the right time seeing as Bayside is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Merritt Island, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 35-19 victory against Astronaut on the 21st.
