The Scripps Ranch Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scripps Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Scripps Ranch managed to slip by Mira Mesa the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Falcons came up short against the Marauders on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Scripps Ranch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eme Ledbetter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Canyon Hills owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over University City. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Natalye Debus, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep University City off the board. Debus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Karalyne Tabada was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Avery Maddox also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Canyon Hills has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Scripps Ranch, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Scripps Ranch took their win against Canyon Hills when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Rattlers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
