Basketball Recap: Argyle Takes a Loss

Argyle and Monterey squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Argyle had to settle for second. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Plainsmen.

Monterey's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ambrosia Cole, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 21 points. The matchup was Cole's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Johnson Ari, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Argyle's defeat dropped their record down to 32-6. As for Monterey, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-5 record this season.

Argyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monterey, they will face off against Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Monterey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 contests.
