Softball Recap: Franklin County Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Franklin County won the last time they faced St. John Paul II and things went their way on Thursday too. The Seahawks walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Sarah Ham was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shasta Butler was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Micahlyn O'Neal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Franklin County pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for St. John Paul II, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Franklin County will take on Blountstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John Paul II, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Florida Christian at 4:30 p.m.
