Wylie East has no trouble against South Garland

The Wylie East Raiders had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down South Garland 59-43. Given Wylie East's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while South Garland is ranked 1320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elijah Darden and Medford Body certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Darden scored 16 points, while Body scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 37.2% of South Garland's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rueben Davis, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Wylie East is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for South Garland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wylie East will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakeview Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Garland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sachse at 7:00 p.m.
