Volleyball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Comes Up Short

St. Ignatius College Preparatory lost against Aragon back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Aragon Dons.

While St. Ignatius College Preparatory was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23.

Aragon found their leader in sophomore Peyton Chiang, who had 11 digs and two aces. Luca Mangano also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. The win (which was Aragon's third in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

Looking ahead, St. Ignatius College Preparatory will face off against Bellarmine College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aragon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sequoia on the 15th.
