Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Comes Up Short

Wartburg Central lost against Sunbright back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wartburg Central Bulldogs fell to the Sunbright Tigers 54-50. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garrett Rogers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sunbright, putting up 23 points. Another player making a difference was Levi Walker, who posted 11 points.

Wartburg Central's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Sunbright, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Wartburg Central will square off against Oliver Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wartburg Central is facing Oliver Springs at the right time seeing as Oliver Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Sunbright has already played their next game, a 60-40 win against Oakdale on the 25th.
