Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Jefferson couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cabell Midland Knights by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Jefferson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Cabell Midland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Jefferson nor Cabell Midland have any future games scheduled.
