Basketball Recap: Ocean Township Comes Up Short

Ocean Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 57-17 loss at the hands of the Shore Regional Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 134th).

Shore Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Fiore, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Coyle, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals.

Ocean Township's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Shore Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean Township will challenge Ranney at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shore Regional, they will welcome Marlboro at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
