Baseball Recap: Youngker Roughriders vs. Rio Rico Hawks
Youngker lost a close one when they played in Friday's second game but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a tough 12-2 defeat at the hands of the Rio Rico Hawks. Youngker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Youngker saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Valencia, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Youngker's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Rio Rico, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Youngker will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Independence at 6:00 p.m. Youngker is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Rio Rico, they will head out on the road to face off against Estrella Foothills at 3:00 p.m. in their second game on Saturday. Both teams will come into the game having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
