Basketball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southwest last Monday, Northwestern came back down to earth. The Northwestern Eagles lost to the Meadville Eagles at home by a 78-60 margin on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Northwestern this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-42 back in December of 2024.

Meadville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Walker Norris led the charge by going 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points Norris has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mason Dennis, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Meadville, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Meadville, they will take on Linn County in a tournament on Monday.
