Basketball Game Preview: West Henderson Falcons vs. Erwin Warriors

West Henderson is 8-2 against Erwin since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Both will face off at 11:00 a.m. without much rest having both just played. West Henderson is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

West Henderson saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Heritage. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Cougars are ranked 135th).

West Henderson might have lost, but man, Tyler Nash was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. The contest was Nash's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jace Chamberlain was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Erwin unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Loveland, falling 63-43. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Erwin now has a losing record at 5-6. As for West Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

West Henderson came up short against Erwin when the teams last played on Saturday, falling 51-44. Can West Henderson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
