Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Halifax Vikings vs. Weldon Chargers

The Northwest Halifax Vikings will square off against the Weldon Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Northwest Halifax ended up a good deal behind North Edgecombe and lost 69-50. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Northwest Halifax might have lost, but man, Keyara Rook was a machine: she posted 29 points. That was a full 58% of Northwest Halifax's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalasha Macon, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Weldon played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Wilson Prep, falling 60-35. The match marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Weldon now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Northwest Halifax, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
