Baseball Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Lakewood Lancers

Compton hasn't had much luck against Lakewood recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Compton Tarbabes will challenge the Lakewood Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Compton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Compton didn't have quite enough to beat Whitney and fell 5-4. The Tarbabes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Compton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Elias, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Eric Vera, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Lakewood fell victim to Rancho Cucamonga and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Lancers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Compton suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Lakewood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Compton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
