Volleyball Recap: Sandwich Indians vs. Mendota Trojans

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sandwich had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mendota Trojans. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September.

Sandwich's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Mendota to exactly 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21.

Sandwich got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jessica Ramey out in front who had six digs, two aces, and a kill. Brooklyn Marks was another key player, getting 11 digs, four aces, and a kill.

The win got Sandwich back to even at 16-16. As for Mendota, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-27-1.

Sandwich wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Seneca on the 29th. Mendota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
