Recap: Washington Blue Lions vs. Chillicothe Cavaliers
The Washington Blue Lions won the last time they faced the Chillicothe Cavaliers, and things went their way on Friday too. Washington came out on top against Chillicothe by a score of 62-54. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Chillicothe is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Haithcock, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Haithcock continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Garrett Rickman was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Washington pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Chillicothe, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will take on Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chillicothe on the road again on Friday and play against McClain at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
