Basketball Game Preview: Osceola Bulldogs vs. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles

Osceola hasn't had much luck against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Osceola Bulldogs will face off against the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Osceola, who comes in off a win.

Osceola will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Meridian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Osceola walked away with a 43-31 win over Meridian on Monday.

Osceola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Recker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Theis, who posted 18 points and five rebounds.

Osceola was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a blow against Cross County, falling 61-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Cougars are ranked 46th).

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Osceola, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Osceola came up short against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 40-34. Can Osceola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
