Soccer Recap: Alameda Gets the Win

While Alameda didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-10-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Bennett Tigers on Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Alameda were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Kamila Castaneda, who's now up to three this season.

Alameda's victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Bennett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Alameda is taking a road trip to face off against Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alameda's defense better be ready for this one: Englewood has averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season. As for Bennett, they will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Fort Lupton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
