Baseball Recap: Quapaw Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Quapaw waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Riverton Rams by a score of 6-1. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jace Gregory made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cooper Welch was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Quapaw: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gavin Koronis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Quapaw's record is now 14-15. As for Riverton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quapaw will welcome Chelsea at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Galena.
